Dustin King and Adrian DeMoe came to IMTA to give it their best and they ended up leaving as Mr. and Ms. Barbizon

When Dustin King and Adrian DeMoe attend- ed this year’s Interna- tional Modeling and Talent Association convention in New York, their respective goals were to learn about the entertainment and modeling industries, make some connections, and just possibly catch the eye of a scout or agent and be discovered. Little did they know, there was an entirely different level of discovery in the cards for them.

Each year, at the IMTA conventions in both Los Angeles and New York City, one lucky male and one lucky female receive the titles of Mr. and Ms. Barbizon. And with that recognition comes the ultimate honor of being a featured model in the pages of the Pageantry and Prom Time annual Fashion Showcase photo shoot, the world’s largest on-site fashion shoot for social occasion gowns. Dustin and Adrian won’t soon forget their experiences at IMTA, and especially their recent time with Pageantry at this year’s shoot in Florida.

Dustin King: It definitely is really exciting and it’s an honor to have been chosen as Mr. Barbizon. I didn’t know they had anything like it when I was going through, but it’s definitely a great award and title

I’m proud to have. Adrian DeMoe: It’s an opportunity that I received thanks to IMTA and Pageantry magazine, and it’s something that is really helping me start my career.

PM: What training school did you attend? DK: I went through Riverside Barbizon, and then for IMTA I trained at the Costa Mesa Barbizon in Orange County. AD: I attended Barbizon Chicago Royal.

PM: When did you first learn of the Barbizon award and title?

DK: When I got to IMTA. AD: I knew I was up for it the night before the audition, and I didn’t think I got it because we were supposed to know by a certain time. But then I found out that I did.

PM: Did you graduate or are you still taking classes and studying? DK: I graduated from the Riverside Barbizon. I was at Costa Mesa for three months before I went to IMTA. AD: I graduated in January, and went to New York for IMTA.

Pageantry magazine: Tell us a little about
the titles of Mr. and Ms. Barbizon.

PM: Had you attended any of the IMTA conventions before?

DK: No. That was my first convention. AD: This was the first IMTA convention that I have attended.

PM: What was your first reaction upon winning the award?

DK: I was really excited. My mom started crying, it was pretty funny. AD: I was sad at first because I didn’t think I had won, but then everyone was clapping
